BEHIND THE LENS
After I retired from the Navy, my calling to photography became my real passion and I decided that my post Navy career would be behind the lens and I enrolled in college to earn my BFA. Day one I knew this was for me and I never looked back, some things I learned through trial and error were finally understood and things I had not even dreamed of are now put in place every time I pick up my camera. I searched for a little while trying to find my niche and in location class I found once again I loved working with architecture and now with all the skills I have learned I started combining both the lower light around sunrise and sunset and architecture together. I found an advertisement for a Mercedes-Benz dealership and the picture of it was absolutely fabulous low light but the sky was a deep rich slightly darker that Kline Blue and all the lights of the dealership popped out and came alive with long starburst. I knew then what I truly wanted to do.
I am an analytical, yet artistic mind. I was drawn to the puzzle of having an immovable object for a subject and using the changing light truly finding the best a building has to offer, was both intriguing and challenging. This is my passion and my calling.
